How Sir John’s death was ‘foreseen’ by a Twitter user

Sad news came in in the late hours of the 1st day of July 2020. It had to do with the unfortunate demise of one of the NPP’s strongest characters, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Sir John. He served as the former NPP general secretary, and was very active during the court appeal after the 2012 elections.

One might almost say his death was unforeseen and unexpected. But do you know how coincidental it can be that someone speaks or remembers someone, and just then something happens to the person. For, example, the Akans have a saying to this effect, that if you mention someone’s name in their absence, and they do not appear, then something might have happened to them. This is a kind of a foresight into the future. And it is a normal occurrence.

Well, minutes after Sir John’s passing away came in, I stumbled upon a Twitter post by a Twitter user called Tutankhamun. He had coincidentally posted a video of Sir John in an interview with Delay. He was reminiscing how much he had missed seeing him on screen.

Just a day after this post, Sir John was reported dead. This has got myself and other people wondering. Could he have foreseen his death? Obviously, this was a sort of a final tribute to him. But was he aware that the man he posted was going to die in just 24 hours?

This has caused stir among people.

Even if it was coincidental, perhaps it was a greater being telling us of what lay ahead. If only we deciphered the clue earlier.

Rest in peace, Sir John. You have served well.
