A devastating incident unfolded as Tei Mantey, aged 30, lost his life in a drowning accident while attempting to cross the Pra River.
The unfortunate event took place at Adansi Nsese in the Bosome Freho district of the Ashanti region.
Reports indicate that Mantey was using an abandoned bridge over the river when it collapsed, resulting in his untimely demise.
According to witnesses interviewed by Adom News correspondent, Isaac K. Normanyo, the bridge had been left incomplete and neglected for the past seven years.
Speaking on the hazardous state of the bridge, Martin Kwabutey, the Assemblyman for Nsese electoral area, expressed concerns over the safety of school children who rely on it daily.
