The Black Queens of Ghana have successfully advanced to the second round of the 2024 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers after an exhilarating victory over Rwanda in the first round.
Over the course of two legs against Rwanda, Ghana’s Black Queens secured an impressive 12-0 aggregate win.
In the second leg of the match, held at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, September 26, the Queens delivered a dominating 7-0 victory.
The midfield standout, Alice Kusi, shone in front of the home fans by opening the scoring in the 22nd minute and completing a sensational hat-trick with two additional goals.
Evelyn Badu and Stella Nyamekye also contributed to Ghana’s commanding 5-0 win in the second leg.
With a resounding 12-0 aggregate victory, Ghana is now set to face Namibia in the second round.
The Black Queens, under the guidance of head coach Nora Hauptle, will be determined to overcome Namibia in the upcoming two-legged encounter as they pursue qualification for the next WAFCON.
