Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia has offered a $10,000 donation to Hasaacas Ladies Football Club to aid their participation in the upcoming CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU Zone B qualifiers.
The contribution was handed over by Tamimu Issah, the Head of Communications at the Vice President’s Office.
Issah emphasized the significance of the donation, noting, “This support is crucial for Hasaacas Ladies as they prepare and gear up to secure a place in the 2024/25 CAF Women’s Champions League.”
Hasaacas Ladies are gearing up for a tough competition in Group B, where they will face formidable opponents including Nigeria’s Edo Queens, Burkina Faso’s Omnisports Etincelle, and Niger’s AS Garde National.
The team from Sekondi, who were runners-up in the first-ever CAF Women’s Champions League in 2021, are determined to stage a strong return this year.
The upcoming tournament, which will be held in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, is set to take place from August 10 to August 23, 2024, making this support timely as the team prepares for the challenge ahead.
