The spotlight shone brightly on Nigerian music stars Burna Boy and Fireboy DML, who were recognized as recipients of the prestigious ‘Most Performed Work of the Year’ awards during the BMI London Awards 2023.

Among these celebrated compositions were Burna Boy’s ‘Last Last’ and Fireboy’s ‘Peru,’ the latter featuring the British singer Ed Sheeran, both of which earned their place on this illustrious list.

Simultaneously, the event also honored another Nigerian luminary in the music industry, the esteemed record producer Richard Isong, who is known by the moniker P2J, and bestowed upon him the distinguished ‘Impact Award’ in recognition of his significant contributions.

The evening further witnessed the recognition of British music legend Gary Kemp, who was lauded with the esteemed ‘Icon Award’ for his outstanding achievements in the field.
