Reportedly, one individual has lost their life, while another fights for survival amidst a chieftaincy dispute between rival factions in Gbengbani, located in the Yunyo-Nasua District of the Northeast Region.
The escalating conflict has resulted in the destruction of over 40 houses, tractors, a tipper truck, motorbikes, and numerous other properties, amounting to thousands of Ghana Cedis in damages.
A combined police and military team has also taken more than ten individuals into custody.
At approximately 5am on Thursday, March 14, police in Yunyoo responded to a distress call regarding a reported gun battle in the Gbengbani community, which led to the burning of houses.
Upon arrival, the police swiftly intervened, apprehending several armed individuals who were reportedly involved in the exchange of gunfire.
