As part of a Garrison tour aimed at raising awareness about the provident fund and retirement planning, Colonel JK Buame led a team that visited the Air Force Base Tamale on Thursday, September 28, 2023.
The primary objective of this visit was to educate military personnel about the performance of the provident fund and the importance of planning for their retirement.
During the event, Colonel Buame emphasized the significance of having a well-structured retirement plan. He encouraged individuals to consider investing in a simple, efficient housing solution to ensure its timely completion. Colonel Buame stressed that a thoughtful and attainable retirement plan brings peace of mind, ensuring a comfortable and stress-free future.
Colonel Buame also addressed common misconceptions and misunderstandings related to the provident fund, shedding light on its benefits.
He urged attendees to carefully evaluate their contributions to the provident fund and consider increasing their contributions in preparation for retirement.
He discouraged frequent withdrawals from the provident fund, as such actions can hinder the growth and stability of one’s retirement savings.
Colonel Buame emphasized the importance of maintaining a consistent and long-term approach to building financial security.
Notable attendees at the lecture included the Base Commander of Air Force Base Tamale, Air Commodore JL Larkai, the Commanding Officer of the Airborne Force, Lieutenant Colonel LY Boakye, as well as representatives from the General Headquarters Resettlement, General Headquarters Education, and Services Integrity Savings and Loan (SISL) Bank.
