See the top 10 footballers in the world at 2022 FIFA Awards

The best football players in the world gathered under one roof as the world’s governing body of the sport honoured and praised their extraordinary efforts over the previous twelve months.

World Cup champion Lionel Messi of Argentina won the award for best male player of the year for the seventh time, defeating Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema and PSG teammate Kylian Mbappe.

Messi is joined by Champions League winner Luka Modric, former Bundesliga leading scorer Erling Haaland, and Africa’s Best Player Sadio Mane on the list of the top ten footballers in the world for 2022.

Along with Achraf Hakimi, who assisted Morocco in reaching the World Cup semifinals for the first time, Julian Alvarez, who also helped Argentina win the World Cup and Copa America, also made the top 10 list.

Brazil’s famous player Neymar and Kevin De Bruyne who is considered one of the best midfielders in the world completed the top 10 footballers in the world list.

Three-time FIFA best men’s player winner, Cristiano Ronaldo did not make the top 10 list. The Portuguese also decided not to vote in the FFIA Best Awards for the first time in six years.
