Russian and North Korean seriously negotiating in arms deal – US

Russia and North Korea are currently talking and making progress on a possible deal to supply a large amount of ammunition for various types of weapons, including artillery. This suggests that Russia is very eager to get more resources for its struggling invasion of Ukraine, as stated in the recently released intelligence report from the United States.

Despite North Korea saying otherwise, there is news of a possible deal.

The Biden administration is worried that two countries that are not liked by others are talking about weapons, and after a Russian government official visited North Korea last month, another group of Russian officials went there to talk more about a possible agreement.

Along with the second group, Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un have sent letters promising to work together more, says John Kirby, a coordinator in the National Security Council’s strategic communications team.

Kirby expressed concerns about North Korea’s potential involvement in supporting Russia’s military actions in Ukraine. We also have new information that talks about weapons between Russia and North Korea are moving forward. “After these negotiations, important talks may continue in the coming months. ”

The Biden administration has made a start publically sharing newly obtained intelligence. This is meant to show how Russia is trying to avoid sanctions from Western countries and acquire weapons for its war. It is also a way to alert North Korea that the US is closely watching their actions. This is the strongest proof we have in a long time that Russia has been helping North Korea in their plan to invade Ukraine.

In these possible agreements, Russia would get a lot of weapons from North Korea, and they want to use them in Ukraine. These possible deals might also include giving Russia the materials it needs for its defense industry,” Kirby said. He promised that the US would punish any companies involved in a potential deal and asked North Korea to stop the negotiations.

Earlier this month, the United States government punished a group of people for helping Russia and North Korea illegally sell weapons.

Kirby also mentioned that Russia’s attempts to obtain weapons from countries like Iran and North Korea showed that Moscow was in trouble.

Kirby said that there is only one way to see that situation, and it is as desperate and weak. Simple as that.

Linda Thomas-Greenfield, who represents the US in the United Nations, said on Wednesday that Russia and North Korea were discussing a weapons agreement.

Greenfield described it as “wrong” and a breaking of rules set by the Security Council that Russia agreed to.

Last year, Pyongyang sent rockets and missiles to a Russian group called Wagner, who are mercenaries. These were given to support their soldiers in Ukraine. Additionally, Western officials say that Iran has provided Russia with weapons for use in Ukraine. Iran and North Korea have said that the claims made about them are not true.
