After receiving a “credible threat” to staff and pupils, an east London primary school was placed on lockdown.
Parents at Redbridge Primary School were informed this morning that a threat had been made against the school and that lockdown protocols had been put in place.
In a statement, it was stated that “the school received a credible threat today, and we applied our lockdown procedures to ensure the safety of our children and staff under the advice of the police and local authority.”
After-school clubs were cancelled as well as a school play.
Parents at Cranbrook Primary in Ilford just over a mile away were also told to expect a police presence.
The Met Police said: ‘You may have been made aware of a threatening email sent to schools.
