Police arrest scores over Dagomba Line clashes in Kumasi

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested over 100 suspects following the clashes that have left many injured and several properties destroyed at Dagomba line at Aboabo on Tuesday.

In a radio interview on Accra-based Citi FM, the Public Relations Officer for the Ashanti Regional Command, ASP Godwin Ahianyo, said the suspects would be screened to enable the police to prosecute those who were directly involved in the clashes.

He said the police had spoken to the two parties involved in the clashes to enable the police to establish the cause of the clashes.

There were violent clashes between some residents of Dagomba Line at Aboabo in Kumasi over an alleged disputed parcel of land last Tuesday, July 9, 2019.

Many residents, particularly women and children were said to have fled the area following the clashes.
