Reports suggested that Mohammed Kudus, the Black Stars midfielder, was on the brink of a transfer to Chelsea, with both parties agreeing on personal terms.

However, the deal ultimately fell through.

According to his agent, Jennifer Mendelewitsch, the deal couldn’t come to fruition because Chelsea declined to meet Ajax’s €40 million asking price.

Mendelewitsch revealed in an interview with RMC that Chelsea had offered to pay only half of the asking price, an offer that Ajax rejected.

In an unexpected twist, West Ham United stepped in and agreed to meet Ajax’s demands, successfully securing the signing of the talented Ghanaian player.

Kudus has made a promising start to his journey at West Ham, finding the net three times despite limited playing time. He has yet to secure a starting spot in a Premier League game, having featured in five matches, played a total of 72 minutes, and scored one goal.

His three starts in eight games have primarily been in the Europa League and the English Football League Cup.
