The Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has fired some of its employees for roughhousing a man.
Assaulting the man by the roadside was seen on tape by the uniformed personnel.
Uncertainty surrounds the assault’s origin.
In a statement, GRA stated that it is “collaborating with the police to deal with the matter” and that the incident has also been reported to the police service.
The statement emphasized that “the proper consequences would be meted out to the parties deemed liable of the assault.”
“We, however, wish to condemn this unfortunate situation and to use this opportunity to entreat the general public to report acts or incidents of such nature to the Authority for quick redress,” the statement added.
