Charles William Zwennes ends term as Chairman of Republic Bank Board

Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC has announced Charles William Zwennes’ term as Chairman of the Board at the end of April 2023.

Mr. Zwennes joined the Board of Republic Bank (then known as HFC Bank) in April 2015 as a representative of Republic Financial Holdings Limited (RFHL). In April 2017, he assumed the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors.

During a critical period in the bank’s history, Mr. Zwennes played a crucial role in overseeing the rebranding process from HFC Bank to Republic Bank. He has made significant contributions in shaping the strategic direction of Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC, driving innovation, and fostering a culture of excellence. Under his leadership, the bank has achieved notable milestones, solidifying its position within the banking sector.

As Mr. Zwennes’ term comes to an end, the Board of Directors extends its sincerest appreciation for his exceptional leadership, invaluable contributions, and unwavering dedication throughout his tenure.

To ensure a smooth transition, the Board, at its meeting held on 2nd June 2023, has appointed Mr. Paul King Aryene as the Acting Chairman of the Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC Board and Chairman of the Bank’s Annual General Meeting for the year ended 31 st December 2022.
