The king of goal scorers in Europe this year is Erling Haaland.

In his debut season in England, the Norwegian forward led Manchester City to their third consecutive Premier League triumph by scoring the most goals.

Robert Lewandowski, who switched from Bayern Munich to Barcelona, finished as La Liga’s top scorer in his first year in the Spanish top flight as he also propelled the Catalan giants to the league title.

The Polish marksman finished as Europe’s top scorer last season when he scored 35 goals for Bayern Munich to win the Golden Shoe in 2022.

Sports Brief, alongside Goal, has revealed the top ten goal-scorers in Europe’s top five leagues following the conclusion of the 2022/23 football season.

1. Erling Haaland, Manchester City

36 goals

Haaland reigned over England in his first season in the Premier League, netting 36 league goals for eventual champions, Manchester City.

The Norwegian forward looks certain to overthrow Lewandowski to become the 2023 Golden Shoe winner. No marksman in Europe’s top five leagues could get close to his goal tally.

Haaland boasts power and pace in abundance, and one of the most sought-after talents on the planet did not disappoint when bursting out of the blocks for the Premier League champions.

2. Harry Kane, Tottenham Hotspur

30 goals

Harry Kane scored a remarkable 30 goals this season for Tottenham, but that was not enough to earn the England forward the top scorer’s award in the English Premier League.

The Nigerian forward powered the Naples club to their first Serie A title in 33 years, after he netted 25 goals to become the league’s top scorer this season.
