This summer’s bidding war for Napoli defender Minjae Kim will include Manchester United, Tottenham, and Liverpool.
The 26-year-old international from South Korea, Kim, has been a revelation for Luciano Spalletti’s dominant Serie A team this season, appearing in 36 of their 37 games in all competitions.
Kim’s current contract apparently features a £39 million release clause, despite only being signed from Turkish team Fenerbahce last summer.
According to The Mail, that has caught the interest of United, Spurs and the Reds, as well as German giants Bayern Munich and French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Napoli intend to offer their No3 fresh terms in the coming weeks to try and avoid losing him for a relatively modest fee.
Those efforts may prove in vain however, with the report suggesting Kim is keen to test himself in the Premier League.
Spurs will hope they hold an edge over their rivals due to the presence of Kim’s international captain Heung-Min Son in their ranks.
But Napoli, who have a commanding 16-point lead in the league and are among the favourites for Champions League glory, will not give up their star defender without a fight.
Describing Kim earlier this season, Spalletti said: “For me, he truly is the best centre-back in the world.
“When he starts the run with the ball at his feet, he can get it into the opposition penalty area in five seconds flat.”
