The ex-Irish prime minister John Bruton has passed away after being sick for a long time.
His family said the 76-year-old Fine Gael politician died in the Mater Hospital in Dublin early on Tuesday.
“He was a loving husband, a caring father, and a loyal patriot. ” “We will really miss him a lot,” the statement said.
Mr Bruton was the prime minister of Ireland from 1994 to 1997.
Mr Bruton was born in Dublin on 18 May, 1947. My dad was born in Dublin on May 18, 1947.
He won the election to become a member of the Irish parliament to represent Meath in 1969.
As the leader, he led a team of Fine Gael, Labour, and Democratic Left.
He was in charge of Fine Gael from 1990 to 2001.
Later, he worked as the European Union ambassador to the United States.
