Woman spotted on Kwame Nkrumah flyover was at secret hideout with boyfriend – Kofi TV

On Thursday, July 25, personnel from the Ghana Fire Service rescued a young woman named Alima, who was found seated between the piers and deck of the flyover in front of the Odawna market at the Kwame Nkrumah interchange.

Channel One News interviewed several witnesses, who were uncertain how Alima ended up in that precarious position. Some speculated that she had intended to jump off the flyover. One witness recounted, “She wanted to jump from the top and people begged her not to until the fire service personnel came to her rescue.”

Another witness added, “We were here just a few minutes ago, and suddenly a crowd gathered. When we approached, we saw a lady between the pillars of the overhead. People were puzzled as to how she got there. Some even speculated she might be a witch. We called the police, but they were unsure how to help, so we contacted the fire service, who then rescued her.”

Assistant Divisional Officer Grade One of the GNFS, Daniel Appiah, explained, “We were on duty when two civilians informed us about a lady stuck at the overpass. One civilian directed us to a space we could use to reach her. We quickly moved our fire engine to the spot and rescued her. After the rescue, she was handed over to the National Ambulance, who checked her vitals and took her to the hospital.”

He also noted that materials such as books, pen drives, and mobile phone cases were found at the scene, suggesting she might not have been alone in residing there.

Portia Ofori, an Advanced CMT at the Circle Ambulance Station, shared that Alima revealed she was living at the overpass with a man and had been discharged from the hospital. Ofori recounted, “Initially, she wasn’t able to speak, and it seemed she was not speaking Twi. We took her to Ridge Hospital, where she still couldn’t talk. I realized she was hungry and promised her food if she answered three questions. She then admitted a man had sent her there and had been sleeping with her. We got her food, and she said she wasn’t sick. We brought her back, gave her some money, and asked her to leave.”

In a latest video, Kofi TV took a tour of what the place looks like.
