West Ham’s Summerville tells why he celebrated goal during Man Utd clash with Kudus

West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville has revealed that he shares a special bond with Ghanaian winger and teammate Mohammed Kudus.

Summerville, who celebrated with Kudus after scoring against Manchester United, asserted that he idolises the Ghanaian.

The Dutch forward explained that he celebrated his goal with Kudus to fulfil a promise he made before entering the game.

“Yeah, yeah, very close. I like Mo [Kudus] a lot. I look up to him as well, on the pitch, off the pitch. So, yeah, I was happy. I told him when I come on, I’m going to score and I’m going to celebrate with you. So, that’s why the emotions came up,” he explained.

Summerville came off the bench to net the opening goal in West Ham United’s 2-1 victory over Manchester United on Sunday, October 27, 2024.

This marked his first goal since joining the Hammers from Championship side Leeds United.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Kudus was absent from the lineup, serving a three-game suspension due to an altercation during West Ham’s previous defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
