Nkawkaw MP to exit Parliament; NPP picks new candidate for Dec. polls

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) leadership, after consulting the National Council, has decided to replace the current Nkwakaw MP, Joseph Frempong, for the upcoming 2024 parliamentary elections.

Due to health issues, Frempong is unable to take on the demanding campaign efforts required for the election.

In his place, David Asante, CEO of Ghana Publishing Company Limited, has been selected to run as the party’s candidate for the Nkwakaw constituency.

Asante, a native of Nkwakaw, had previously contested Frempong in the party primaries earlier this year but was unsuccessful.

However, he will now represent the NPP in the forthcoming elections.
