Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is scheduled to introduce a Credit Scoring System in October 2024, a central pillar of his campaign aimed at simplifying the process for Ghanaians to make purchases on credit and pay in installments.
Dr. Bawumia emphasised that this initiative would transition the nation from a predominantly cash-based economy to one that promotes credit usage, which will greatly benefit small businesses and young entrepreneurs.
At a campaign event in Assin Fosu, he underscored the system’s potential to stimulate economic growth, generate employment, and improve access to credit for individuals across the country.
Dr. Bawumia noted, “This system will open up new opportunities for individuals and small businesses to access credit, which in turn will drive economic growth and job creation.”
At the event, Okumanin Baffour Asare Kyeahene II, the Paramount Chief of the Afutuakwa Traditional Area, urged Dr. Bawumia to address the deteriorating road conditions in the Assin Central Constituency, highlighting it as a significant issue for the local community.
