“We will be back” – Kobbie Mainoo’s message to England fans

English midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has reassured England fans that the Three Lions “will be back” following their heartbreaking 2-1 loss to Spain in the Euro 2024 final.

This marks the second consecutive time England has fallen short in the Euro final.

Spain’s Nico Williams opened the scoring, with England’s Cole Palmer equalising shortly after. However, Mikel Oyarzabal’s late strike clinched Spain’s fourth European Championship title.

The Manchester United teenager, who impressed during the tournament, was deeply affected by the loss but expressed optimism in a social media post, promising that England will make a strong comeback in future attempts to win the tournament.

“Devastated to fall short but proud and grateful to compete in my first major international tournament for my country. We will be back,” Mainoo shared on Instagram.

Mainoo started the tournament as a substitute for England but soon became a crucial player in the starting lineup as the team advanced to the knockout stages.

Since the inception of the European Championship in 1960, England has yet to secure a victory in the tournament.
