Watch highlights of Raphael Dwamena’s 24 goals scored in 2023

Former Black Stars striker Raphael Dwamena experienced a remarkable period before his tragic passing on Saturday, November 11, 2023.

Up until his untimely demise, Dwamena had showcased outstanding form, netting 24 goals and contributing 10 assists in 36 games throughout 2023.

The Ghanaian striker’s life was cut short when he suffered a heart seizure and collapsed on the pitch in the 23rd minute during Egnatia Rrogozhine’s match against Partizani Tirana.

Dwamena was in the midst of his most prolific season since 2017/2018, where he scored 21 goals in 51 games for FC Zurich.

Joining Egnatia in January 2023 on an initial one-and-a-half-year deal, he made an immediate impact, scoring 12 goals and providing 9 assists in his first six months at the club.

Impressed by his contributions in the 2022–2023 campaign, Egnatia extended Dwamena’s contract by two years.

In the 2023–2024 season, he seamlessly continued his stellar performance, recording 12 goals and one assist in just 12 games before the tragic turn of events.
