Italian football star Mario Balotelli has captured the attention of many Ghanaians after being spotted confidently speaking Twi, one of Ghana’s most widely spoken local languages.
In a social media video, Balotelli is seen conversing in Twi with Kofi Filipo, a well-known Italian personality who also speaks Twi, while they were in a car. His efforts to connect through the local language have charmed many Ghanaians.
This marks the second time Balotelli, who is currently playing for Adana Demirspor in Turkey, has been seen speaking Twi. In 2020, he asked his biological parents to speak Twi during a live TV broadcast.
The 30-year-old, appearing live with his younger brother, phoned his parents and made the request.
Despite his decision to play for Italy, the former Manchester City star has always openly expressed his love for Ghana.
