Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan showcased his singing talent at the launch of the All Regional Games at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
The renowned retired footballer took the stage and captivated the audience with his vocal performance. He began with the popular song “Do The Dance,” a collaboration with the late musician Castro, and concluded with “African Girls.”
The crowd was visibly moved by Gyan’s melodies, enthusiastically joining in and cheering.
After his performance, Gyan expressed his gratitude to the attendees for their support and acknowledged that other artists were also lined up to perform.
“We appreciate everyone who came out. If I keep singing, the other artistes might outshine me, so I’ll end here,” Gyan humorously said in Twi, as captured in a video shared by blogger Kokoba on YouTube.
After Gyan’s performance, Ghanaian comedian Funny Face took the stage shirtless to entertain the crowd with his dance moves.
The highly anticipated All Regional Games, a project spearheaded by Gyan in collaboration with various sports authorities, commenced on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The event aims to sustain the excitement generated by the recent African Games hosted by Ghana.
During the launch, Asamoah Gyan highlighted that the All Regional Games are designed to provide a platform for talented Ghanaians to showcase their skills.
The event will feature competitions in nine different sports, including football, athletics, and esports.
The All Regional Games are expected to uphold the spirit of the African Games, giving emerging athletes and footballers in Ghana a chance to shine and continue the country’s sporting legacy.
