The day 16-year-old Abedi Pele stormed Kumasi with RTU and shocked Kotoko

On 6th April 1981, which is exactly 39 years today Abedi Pele and his RTU side stormed Kumasi & handed Kotoko a 0-1 defeat to break their home invincibility.

The scorer of the all-important goal was PMK Kusi a.k.a Teacher Kusi. He scored from a well-taken freekick in the 40th minute to beat Sam Ampeh.

16-year-old Abedi Pele was in the thick of events and he was a thorn in the flesh of the Kotoko players.
