Ghana’s Youth and Sports Ministry has settled the overdue bonuses for the Black Princesses.
The players had been awaiting a $6,000 payment each for their efforts during the three qualifying rounds of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, a sum that had been outstanding since January.
According to Joy Sports, the Ministry has now completed the payments, though each player received a revised amount of $4,500.
As they prepare for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia, which starts on August 31, the Black Princesses are set to compete for Ghana for the seventh time in the tournament’s history.
They have been placed in Group E alongside Japan, Austria, and New Zealand, with hopes of advancing past the group stage for the first time.
The team, along with their coaching staff, has been training intensively in Cape Coast and will participate in several friendly matches before their departure for Colombia.
