Real Tamale United bus crashes

Real Tamale United (RTU) football team narrowly escaped death after their bus saw a break failure on their return from the Easter Region following their clash with Dreams FC on June 12, 2024 at Dawu Sports Stadium.

News of this tragedy emerged after videos and images of the bus were captured in a bush after a veering of the main road around Tuobodam.

In a tweet shared by blogger and social critic @SIKAOFFICIAL, he revealed that “after losing 8-1 to Dreams FC in the Ghana Premier League, the Real Tamale United (RTU) football team narrowly avoided tragedy. On their journey back, their team bus experienced a brake failure near Tuobodom, causing the vehicle to veer off the road.”

Meanwhile, the match between Dreams FC and Real Tamale United (RTU) was overshadowed by scandalous acts of impersonation.

RTU used unregistered players who impersonated officially registered players during the game. Despite RTU being already relegated, Dreams FC secured an emphatic 8-1 victory in their crucial penultimate match of the season in Dawu.

The deception was uncovered early in the match when it became evident that the names listed on RTU’s team sheet did not correspond to the players present for the game.
