Le Parisien and ESPN reported on Saturday that Kylian Mbappe, the captain of France (25), will join La Liga giants Real Madrid when his contract with Paris St Germain concludes at the end of the season.
Mbappe had declared last year that he would not extend his contract with the Ligue 1 side beyond the 2023–24 campaign, paving the way for a free transfer to another club.
According to sources, the striker is expected to announce a pre-contract agreement with the 14-time European champions next week.
In September 2023, media reports indicated that Mbappe would forgo loyalty bonuses of up to 100 million euros ($107.84 million) to depart PSG as a free agent.
Despite being strongly linked with Real in 2022, Mbappe chose to extend his contract with PSG shortly before the transfer window opened.
