Rashford could become Man Utd’s highest paid layer with de Gea’s help

There are reports suggesting that David de Gea could play a significant role in Marcus Rashford becoming Manchester United’s highest-earning player.

Rashford had an impressive season for United in 2022/23, which culminated in the team winning the Carabao Cup and ending their trophy drought. He showcased his talent throughout the campaign and scored a total of 30 goals across various competitions.

In the Premier League alone, Rashford netted 17 goals as Erik ten Hag’s side secured a third-place finish, guaranteeing them a spot in the Champions League.

According to Goal, Rashford’s remarkable performances have put him in a position to negotiate a lucrative contract with the club, with David de Gea potentially playing a role in securing favorable terms for the young forward.

Rashford to become top earner

According to reports, United are looking to reward Rashford with a new bumper deal following his blistering run of form.

The Sun claims the new deal could see the forward earn as much as £375,000-a-week deal to become the club’s highest earner.

Incredibly, De Gea, who is out of contract at Old Trafford, is reportedly expected to play a key part in the deal.

It is believed that the Spaniard’s wages could be reduced to £200K-a-week, the same as what Rashford is earning at the moment.

Should the goalkeeper accept the pay cut, it would effectively see him and Rashford trade salaries.
