Palmeiras is making a final effort to persuade Real Madrid to extend Endrick’s stay until the end of 2024, sources informed ESPN’s Francisco De Laurentiis and Rodrigo Faez.
However, both the player and the Spanish club are eager for him to make the move this summer.
Endrick, 17, was confirmed as a Real Madrid signing in December 2022, with plans for him to join the team in Spain upon turning 18 in July.
According to sources, Palmeiras President Leila Pereira has inquired with the player’s representatives about the possibility of him remaining in Brazil until December.
She hopes to capitalise on the visit of Madrid’s chief scout, Juni Calafat, to Brazil this week to advocate for a change of plans.
Calafat is scheduled to meet with Endrick and his representatives during his visit, as well as attend Palmeiras’ match against Portuguesa in the Campeonato Paulista on Wednesday.
Although Palmeiras acknowledges the challenge, they are not giving up hope of retaining Endrick until December.
Pereira intends to discuss the matter with Calafat, with the club banking on the remaining installments owed by Real Madrid for the transfer to provide leverage in negotiations.
However, Endrick’s preference remains to join Real Madrid for the preseason this summer.
