Our supporters, management deserve better – Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu

Head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Maxwell Konadu has admitted that management and supporters deserve better than the results the team has churned in the last couple of days.

The Continental club masters suffered two defeats successively in both the Ghana Premier League and the MTN FA Cup.

Though not much was heard following a 1-0 loss to Aduana Stars, the team’s 2-1 defeat against Asokwa Deportivo has attracted backlash from supporters with club Executive Chairman Dr. Kwame Kyei being forced to hold an executive meeting with the players last Monday.

In an interview on the back of the meeting which ended with players being taken to the cleaners, coach for Asante Kotoko Maxwell Konadu has admitted the Porcupine Warriors have not shown the right desire in the last couple of matches.

“What is going on we think as technical men our management and supporters deserve better than we are doing at the moment and we have made it clear to everybody [the technical team members, the playing body] that it looks as if the desire is still not enough”, the experienced trainer said.

He added, “We believe that we can give more and we believe that Kotoko deserves better than what it is enjoying now”.

Kotoko will look to appease supporters and the entire club when they take on Bechem United tomorrow at the Accra Sports Stadium.
