The GFA-Normalization Committee have brushed aside reports indicating they are seeking an extension from FIFA.
Widespread reports in the Ghanaian media claimed the Committee led by Dr Kofi Amoah has written to FIFA to extend its mandate, a report which has been denied in a statement released by the GFA-NC Committee.

A portion of the statement reads: The GFA-NC wishes to state unequivocally that, it is determined to wrap-up within the stipulated mandate as spelt out by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA).
“The public is therefore urged to regard as false any contrary information, surrounding the GFA-NC supposed intent to further seek extension of its mandate.â€

FIFA extended the mandate of the Committee to September this year after which they (Normalization Committee) will organize and supervise an election of a new Football Association President as well as members to form the executive committee to run Ghana Football.
