Nigeria and Benin submit joint bid for the hosting rights of 2025 AFCON

After today, Friday, December 16, CAF will stop receiving applications from countries interested in hosting the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Among the countries that have submitted bids, Benin and Nigeria have partnered and submitted a joint bid for the hosting rights.

Meanwhile, Algeria are also interested in the hosting rights and have submitted a bid as well.

This has been confirmed by Algerian Football Federation (FAF) President Salah Bey Aboud who traveled to Cairo, Egypt, to finalise the submission of the bid himself.

“I am currently in Cairo and I have just officially submitted Algeria’s candidacy file for CAN 2025 “, he told the press in Cairo during an engagement.

Meanwhile, Morocco have also successfully filed their bid for the hosting right.

South Africa, Senegal, and Zambia are also interested in hosting the 2025 AFCON but are yet to finalise the application.

They have until the close of today to complete the process or abandon the plans and try for the subsequent AFCON.
