When asked to choose between Argentine superstar Lionel Messi and Brazilian legend Ronaldinho, Bojan Krkic has given his preference towards Messi.
Bojan had the opportunity to play alongside both football icons during his four-season stint at Barcelona after graduating from the club’s La Masia academy.
As per PSG Talk, the 32-year-old has picked Messi as the better player of the two Barcelona legends due to his prolonged success and continued dominance in the sport, having won the Ballon d’Or award seven times.
“It’s difficult to say this; I don’t think so. Probably it’s Messi because Messi is playing fantastic football for over 20 years which is something unbelievable.”
He added: “But Ronaldinho played probably two or three years at the top level, but for those two or three years, he was unstoppable.”
Messi won all there is to win at club level with Barcelona, claiming 35 trophies including four Champions League titles, 10 La Liga victories, and seven Copa del Rey crowns.
Meanwhile, Ronaldinho won two La Liga titles, two Spanish Super Cups, and one Champions League with the Catalans.
Ronaldinho was something different
Meanwhile, Krkic also admitted he was starstruck playing alongside Ronaldinho and described the Brazilian legend as ‘something different’, Talk Sport reports.
The now-retired Barcelona man described his ex-teammate as the most special person he played with during an interview with Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent.
Before leaving La Liga giants in 2011, Krkic made 162 appearances for the Catalan club, scoring 41 goals.
Guardiola makes plea to Messi
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Messi faces a decisive month, ahead of his rumoured departure from Paris Saint-Germain when his contract expires in the summer.
He joined the Parisians in 2021 after 21 successful years in Barcelona, as a result of the Spanish club being unable to register him due to their financial limitations.
Pep Guardiola’s message to Messi suggested he believes the veteran should choose Camp Nou, despite Al-Hilal offering him £552 million per season to join them.
