Meet the Ghanaian players featuring in 2018/2019 Champions League

The 2018/19 Europe’s elite club competition will kick-off on Tuesday, September 18 with the best European sides set to compete against each other in the tournament.

The question on the lips of football aficionados is, which of the Ghanaian players featuring in this season competition can taste glory.

Only 5 Ghanaians have ever won the competition. They are; Abedi Ayew Pele [Marseille], Samuel Osei Kuffour [Bayern Munich], current Black Stars assistant coach Ibrahim Tanko [Dortmund], Michael Essien [Chelsea] and Sulley Ali Muntari [Inter Milan]

Here is a list of Ghanaian players who will compete against the best in the world to lift the coveted trophy in club football.

The Swiss-born Ghanaian guardsman has been instrumental for the Bern-based side in their Swiss league title defence. The 22-year-old has made six appearances in the Super League and also two appearances in the qualifying phase of the Champions League.

Despite being a rookie in the competition, Kwesi Wuthrich is expected to play a key role in their bid usurp big European giants like Manchester United, Juventus and Valencia in Group H.
