Goalkeeper Nathan Bishop has departed from Manchester United to join Sunderland, a Championship side.
This move comes shortly after an unfortunate collision with Wrexham’s Paul Mullin.
Following his challenge on Mullin, which resulted in the Wrexham striker sustaining a punctured lung, Bishop, the young goalkeeper from Manchester United, has officially left the club.
He signed a three-year contract with Sunderland, the details of which have not been disclosed. This confirmation came from the club’s announcement on Wednesday.
The incident occurred during a pre-season friendly match between Manchester United and Wrexham in the United States.
In the 12th minute of the game, Bishop and Mullin had an accidental collision that led to Mullin needing medical attention, including the use of an oxygen mask. Mullin was subsequently substituted and taken to a hospital for further treatment.
As of now, Mullin is in the process of recovery at the residence of Rob McElhenney, one of the club’s co-owners, in Los Angeles.
Erik ten Hag’s team will be back in action for a pre-season friendly against Lens on August 5th, which will take place at Old Trafford.
