Man Utd are reportedly considering a bid for Bayern Munich centre-back Matthijs de Ligt, according to reports.
Internal discussions have allegedly begun among the leadership at Old Trafford, with the 24-year-old Dutch defender included on their list of targets for the upcoming transfer window.
The club is said to be in the process of “gathering more information” about De Ligt, and a potential move could materialise if they decide to make an offer of around €50 million.
De Ligt played a pivotal role under manager Thomas Tuchel last season, appearing in 30 matches across various competitions for the Bundesliga outfit.
He is viewed as an alternative option to Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite.
While reports suggested that personal terms were recently agreed upon with Branthwaite, Team Talk notes that Manchester United still need to bridge a significant gap with Everton over the transfer fee.
