Kudus by far the ‘best newcomer’ in Premier League – Man Utd legend Gary Neville

As the football season reaches its climax, enthusiasts, analysts, and former players eagerly unveil their picks for the season’s end-of-year accolades and Kudus has earned some praise.

This period serves as a platform for the football community to assess and applaud players’ performances, engaging in discussions that blend praise and critique.

During the May 13, 2024, broadcast of Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, esteemed hosts Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher shared their selections for the 2023–2024 Premier League season awards.

These two football icons offered diverse perspectives on various categories, sparking debates among fans.

A notable point of contention arose in the ‘Best Newcomer’ category. Gary Neville, renowned for his tenure at Manchester United, nominated Mohammed Kudus, the Ghanaian sensation who has shone brightly for West Ham United.

Conversely, Jamie Carragher threw his support behind Bournemouth coach Andoni Iraola, recognising the Spaniard’s commendable achievements throughout the season.

Neville commended Kudus for his remarkable impact during his debut season with the Hammers.

In the Premier League alone, Kudus showcased his prowess by scoring seven goals and providing six assists for West Ham, leading the league in completed dribbles.

His impressive contributions extended beyond the domestic stage, with a total of thirteen goals across all competitions, earning him recognition as the second-best player in West Ham’s end-of-season awards.
