The record-holder for the men’s 200m in Ghana, James Dadzie, unfortunately had to withdraw from the men’s 200m heats during the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest due to injury.
Dadzie sustained what appeared to be a hamstring injury while competing in heat 4 of the 200m event, preventing him from finishing the race.
It is worth noting that Dadzie has been contending with a hamstring injury since he set the national record back in April of this year.
Following his injury in the race, Dadzie was carried off the track, with the crowd offering their applause in recognition of his efforts.
In that particular race, the victory was secured by Canada’s Brendon Rodney. Following closely behind were Renan Correa and Shaun Maswanganyi of Brazil and South Africa, respectively, who clinched the second and third positions.
