Star player Giannis Antetokounmpo was assisted off the court with a calf injury during the Milwaukee Bucks’ 104-91 victory over the Boston Celtics.
Antetokounmpo, a two-time NBA Most Valuable Player, contributed 15 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists for the Bucks before sustaining the injury in the third quarter.
After falling to the floor, he grabbed his left leg and was escorted from the court by his team-mates.
The Bucks later announced that Antetokounmpo had suffered a left soleus strain and would not return for the fourth quarter.
Despite the injury setback, the Bucks’ victory ended their four-game losing streak and halted the Celtics’ five-game unbeaten run.
With three games remaining in the regular season, the Bucks are in a strong position to secure the number two seed in the Eastern Conference by defeating the Orlando Magic, New York Knicks, and Cleveland Cavaliers.
