The leadership of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) recently paid a courtesy visit to President Akufo Addo.
Their purpose was to express gratitude for his participation in their past two events and to discuss plans for the 2024 edition.
During the meeting, the delegation, headed by Chairman Kudjoe Fianoo, presented a photo album of the 2023 President’s Cup to His Excellency Nana Akufo Addo after engaging in productive discussions on Saturday, October 28.
Vice-Chairman John Ansah and two other members, George Ofosuhene Peprah and Anita Wiredu-Mintah, as well as Administrative Manager Samuel Oduro Nyarko and Communication Chief Patrick Akoto, were also in attendance at the meeting held at the presidential seat of Ghana.
President Akufo Addo has been a staunch supporter of GHALCA’s activities and football in general, playing a crucial role in advancing sports infrastructure in this influential West African nation.
He holds the distinction of being the only sitting president to attend two President’s Cup events and is set to complete a hat-trick by attending the final one before his term ends next year.
In the most recent event, Hearts of Oak defeated their rival Asante Kotoko 1-0 to claim the trophy.
The upcoming event in the following year is anticipated to see significant improvements, marking the tenure of the Ghanaian leader, who has been guiding the promising African nation for the past seven years.
