GFA to renew betPawa’s sponsorship deal for GPL – Randy Abbey reveals

Executive Council Member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Dr. Randy Abbey, has announced that efforts are underway to renew the sponsorship agreement with betPawa for the Ghana Premier League.

betPawa, which served as the primary sponsor for the league, withdrew from the contract during the 2023/24 season.

Dr. Abbey clarified that the initial agreement was for one year, which is why the company decided to exit.

He further indicated that the GFA has successfully engaged in renegotiations with betPawa, and a new sponsorship deal is expected to be finalized and announced shortly.

“Well, it’s a partnership that was signed for one year; there was the expression to renew from both parties, and we have gone far,” he told Joy Sports.

“I can say that we have almost concluded negotiations, and I’m sure that in the next few days, both parties will announce the details, so we are renewing for another year,” he added.

The 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season is set to kick off on September 6.
