Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is an American basketball player who has been celebrated for his many achievements.
Up until now, he held the all-time scoring record (38,387) in the NBA. After 39 years, he lost the title to LeBron James who keeps making strides in his career.

Kareem is no doubt an icon in the basketball world, but what many do not know is his interest in other matters which do not necessarily deal with balls and baskets.

1. Kareem studied martial arts from the late Bruce Lee, his mentor and friend, in the 1960s.
2. The septuagenarian featured in Game of Death, which was produced by Raymond Chow R and Bruce Lee in 1978.

3. The civil rights and social justice activist co-produced the documentary, “Black Patriots,” that focuses on the black American heroes of the Revolutionary War.
4. Kareem authored several New York Times bestsellers including Giant Steps, Kareem, Black Profiles in Courage, A Season on the Reservation, and Brothers in Arms.
5. He was nominated for an Emmy in the Outstanding Narrator category for his narration in the hour-long “Black Patriots: Heroes of the Revolution” documentary.
