FIFA has collapsed the Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) following its decision to appoint a Normalisation Committee for the country on Wednesday.
This means all members of the Executive Committee will vacate their posts while the body to be set up by FIFA and CAF will take charge of the administration of the game in the country.

The Normalisation Committee will run the affairs of the game in Ghana until their mandate expire in March next year when it is expected that elections are held.
Members of the Executive Committee seek to occupy positions within the federation must stand for elections when the statutes have been re-examined by the body appointed by FIFA.
The confirmation of the FIFA Normalisation Committee means that the work of the FIFA/CAF liaison team for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has also ended.
A special FIFA Task Force will be put in place to investigate the allegations of wrongdoing against some members of the previous administration to establish the facts and prescribe punishments for those found guilty.
The decision to disband the Executive Committee is part of the agreement reached with government to stop the liquidation of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
A letter addressed to Madam Fatma Samoura, General Secretary of FIFA, by Deputy Attorney General, Mr. Godfred Dame reads; “I refer to the mutual understanding reached and signed by the President of the FIFA, Mr Gianni Infantino and the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ghana, Mr. Isaac Asiamah at the meeting on 16th August, 2018, held in Zurich, Switzerland, between representatives of Government of Ghana and FIFA.
“In demonstration of our good faith and commitment towards a realisation of decisions reached at the meeting of 16th August, 2018, the Attorney-General has filed an application for the discontinuation of the petition to wind up the GFA.
“This constitutes a notification to the High Court of Ghana of the government’s decision to discontinue/withdraw the petition for the liquidation of the GFA,” the letter read.
