Ex-GPL player Hans Kwofie dies in accident at 35

Former AshantiGold footballer Hans Kwofie tragically passed away in a fatal car accident near Dadwen in Tarkwa on June 21, 2024, at the age of 35.

The accident occurred as he was traveling to his hometown of Dompim Pepesa in the Western Region, resulting in his immediate demise.

Hans Kwofie, renowned for his prowess as a striker, notably clinched the top scorer title in the 2017 season of the Ghana Premier League.

He also represented Ghana’s U-20 national team, the Black Satellites, during his career.

Throughout his time in the Ghana Premier League, Hans Kwofie played for various esteemed clubs including Medeama, Ashgold, Legon Cities, Bechem United, Heart of Lions, and Aduana Stars.

At the time of his untimely passing, he was actively engaged with Birgunj United FC in Nepal.

The football community mourns the loss of a talented player whose contributions to the sport will be remembered fondly.
