Dutch internationals of Ghanaian descent, Brian Brobbey and Jeremie Frimpong, have shown worthy of their spots in the final Netherlands squad for the forthcoming 2024 European Championship in Germany.
Their outstanding season-long efforts with their respective teams have earned them well-earned spots on the final squad of the much-anticipated competition.
Brobbey is set to make his Oranje debut after showcasing his skills at the Dutch powerhouse Ajax.
In the meantime, Bayer Leverkusen player Frimpong has already made two appearances for the national squad.
After finishing their European club seasons, both players reported to national team training last weekend.
At the end of his incredible Dutch Eredivisie season, Brobbey scored an astounding 18 goals in 30 games for Ajax.
On the other hand, Frimpong—a right-back—made a substantial contribution to Bayer Leverkusen’s triumph, helping the team win the DFB-Pokal and the Bundesliga title, completing a domestic double.
Notably, he contributed 12 assists and 14 goals from his defensive position.
Due to recent modifications to FIFA’s nationality switch regulations, both players are still able to switch allegiance to the Black Stars even if they are officially committed to representing the Netherlands.
