Dwarfs promise to edge out Elmina Sharks

For decades, Sekondi Hasaacas and Ebusua Dwarfs provided an intense Central regional rivalry until the promotion of Elmina Sharks to the top flight league.

Since then the battle has remained between the two sides and on Wednesday that rivalry will be renewed once again at the Dr Nduom Sports Complex where Sharks have threatened to shred Dwarfs to walk away with the bragging rights in this regional derby.

But spokesperson of Ebusua Dwarfs, Abeiku Okyere, has called the bluff of Elmina Sharks and promised his side will leave the backyard of Elmina Sharks with the maximum points because they are motivated by the impact Coach Ernest Thompson Quartey has had on the team

According to Okyere the team has further been motivated by the kind gesture of their supporters who donated GH?2000 and boxes of water to the club as they prepare towards the game.

Anticipating the chances of Dwarfs winning the days point the Spokesperson said he was confident his club will not leave Elmina without the three points and promised to beat Sharks 2-0 win.

He emphasized that though the team has improve the 16th position they currently occupy means they were not safe from the relegation and noted that more needed to be done to keep the club winning to sustain them in the elite league.

Dwarfs posted a 2-1 win over Karela United last weekend and are currently lying at the 16th position on the league log with 10 points. Elmina Sharks also recorded similar scoreline beating Medeama 2-1 at Tarkwa, and lies 10th on the log with 14 points.

In other fixtures, Aduana Stars will face Kotoko at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park and at the Len Clay Stadium Ashantigold will battle Dreams FC, while the at Techiman Park , Eleven Wonders will welcome WAFA in another entertaining encounter.

The Accra Sports Stadium will be hosting Inter Allies and Medeama, while the Akoon Park in Tarkwa is where Karela United will host Hearts of Oak. Bechem United will welcome Liberty Professionals to the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.

Meanwhile on Thursday, Accra Great Olympics will lock horns with Berekum Chelsea at the Accra Sports Stadium while King Faisal, who have adopted the Len Clay Stadium as their new home following the renovation works expected at the Baba Yara Stadium, will host Legon Cities.
