Cranes tear down Camp Nou as renovation begins for the famed Barca stadium

Barcelona has commenced the demolition of sections of Camp Nou as part of their ongoing renovations of the iconic stadium.

The process took a significant step forward on Monday as machinery began dismantling a stand.

The club initiated the extensive upgrade project at the conclusion of the previous season. Barcelona will temporarily play their home matches for the upcoming season at the Olympic Stadium in Montjuic.

The team is expected to return to Camp Nou in late 2024, when the stadium will reopen with a retractable roof and solar panels, accommodating 70 percent capacity.

As preparations for the new season commence, Barcelona’s senior squad underwent medical examinations at the club’s training center on Monday. These initial steps mark the start of their training and readiness for the upcoming campaign.
