Kylian Mbappe has signed a contract to join Real Madrid on a free transfer, effective after his Paris Saint-Germain deal expires on June 30.
The French striker, who verbally agreed to the move in February and announced his departure from PSG in May, will officially join Madrid when the La Liga transfer window opens on July 1.
Real Madrid is expected to announce the deal next week, with plans to present Mbappe at the Bernabeu after Euro 2024.
The 25-year-old World Cup winner, who is PSG’s record goalscorer with 256 goals since his initial loan from Monaco in 2017, has agreed to a contract with Real Madrid until 2029.
His deal includes an annual salary of 15 million euros (£12.8m) and a signing-on bonus of 150 million euros (£128m) spread over five years, along with a share of his image rights.
Mbappe will have the opportunity to play alongside Luka Modric, who is expected to sign a new one-year extension with Real Madrid.
Modric, 38, contributed to Madrid’s 15th European Cup victory, with a 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.
German midfielder Toni Kroos, 34, made way for Modric during his final appearance for the club after a decade-long tenure.
Real Madrid will celebrate their record-extending European Cup win with a trophy parade through Madrid on Sunday night.
